Michael’s Institute of Management and Technology is a Self Financing Arts and Science College affiliated to the University of Kerala, founded and owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Alleppey. Started as a Learner Support Centre(MIMAT) of the flagship educational institution of the Diocese of Alleppey , St.Michael’s College, the institution obtained the affiliation of the University of Kerala as a self financing college and commenced functioning in June 2015 with two undergraduate courses -BCom with Finance as Elective and BCA. Under the able leadership of Rev.Fr. Solomon, the first Manager and Prof. John Joseph the first Principal and Rev.Fr.Celestine Puthenpurackal ,the Asst.Manager , the college developed into a notable centre of higher education imparting value centered ,quality oriented training to the students coming to its fold. In 2017 Rev.Fr.Sony Xavier Panackal was appointed the manager and the construction of the new building was effectualized during his tenure.Prof.Tessy Lalachan took charge as the principal in June 2018 and the steady progressive journey in tune with the standards of excellence expected of a centre of higher education continued. On December 26th 2018, H.E.Rt.Rev.Dr.Stephen Athipozhiyil, the Bishop of Alleppey Diocese and the Patron of the college blessed the new building and H.E.Rt.Rev.James Raphael Anaparambil, the coadjutor bishop unveiled the memorial plaque. In April 2019, Rev.Fr.Nelson Thaiparambil assumed charge as the Manager with Rev.Fr.Joy Pazhampassery as the Pro Manager. Efforts to sanction new courses are initiated and the institution is striding the pathways of progress upholding the ideals of equality, peace and justice, and grounded in secular values. It caters to the educational needs of the neighborhood community offering quality education at affordable rates and is committed to the relentless quest for excellence.
